Aruba

Representing the ‘A’ in the ABC islands is Aruba. A gorgeous and historical desert paradise in the Caribbean sea off the coast of Venezuela. One of the lesser Antilles, the island has one of the most unique vibes compared to many other islands in this region. As Aruba is under jurisdiction of the Netherlands, natives to the island grow up speaking Dutch in schools, but primarily use Spanish and French, although the entire island is English friendly too. They have held the awards of some of the highest ranked beaches in the entire world many times, which I can vouch to that fact.

My trip was in May of 2023. I was invited to stay at the Divi All-Incluvise Tamarijn Resort for my stay, and had access to the other 2 Divi resorts that share their stretch of the beach. With the option of All Inclusive you gain access to a near endless supply of open bars and restaurants and pools from all the properties, though I found one was enough. If you want to be spoiled with things to explore, look no further. From the dreamy beaches to the rocky natural pools and even a forest of towering cacti - not to mention the namesake Divi Divi trees scattered about the center of the islands, it’s hard to see everything in one visit. I recommend splitting your time between a cushy resort and out on the unique terrain of the desert part of the island.

At the resort concierge desk I was able to get transportation into other areas and easily book sunset cruises and off road ATV tours to the natural pools. The seafood and Latin cuisine is delicious, but the best eats can be found in the local hotspots.
